The marriage of Louise Smith and Paul Jacobs.

16th Century Grafton Manor, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
2nd April 2011.

My first meeting with Louise and her mother Andrea to discuss her wedding day flowers was in the autumn of 2010.

As we discussed her wedding plans it became clear that this was not going to be the normal type of wedding that I’m involved with on a weekly basis.

Her relationship with Paul had already received a lot of press coverage due to the circumstances of how they met. However I was to later find out that the wedding would be covered by the Sun newspaper due to their involvement with the charity “Help for Heroes”.

The bride was to be treated like a Princess as the Sun’s Royal photographer Arthur Edwards – who was to be on duty at the Royal Wedding later that month – captured her special day.

Louise like many of the brides I work with who have a particular theme in mind was happy to trust me being open to my suggestions and ideas.

She had already decided that she wanted bird cages covered in white Orchids for the table centres being complimented with various shades of pink roses.

This theme then followed throughout the wedding flowers from Louise’s “Hand tied” bouquet to buttonholes and corsages.

It was an absolute pleasure to be involved with Louise and Paul’s special day –
